Blink 182 IMPLODES: Accusations Fly From All Members
Posted on 5:09 PM by sunnnata
This is awful.
After news broke that Tom DeLonge had supposedly quit Blink 182, and his statement that he actually hadn't, other members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker sat down for an interview with 'Rolling Stone'.
The duo didn't hold back in criticizing DeLonge for his "flaky" behavior and called him the reason why the new music has stalled.
Some of what they said included:
"We booked Jan. 5 to go into the studio," Hoppus said.
"On Dec. 30, we get an email from Tom's manager saying that he has no interest in recording and that he wants to do his other, non-musical stuff and that he's out indefinitely. There's a flurry of e-mails going back and forth for clarification about the recording and the show and his manager sends [an e-mail] back saying, 'Tom. Is. Out.' Direct quote. This is the exact same e-mail we got back in 2004 when Tom went on indefinite hiatus before."
This was added on top of Tom not wanting to perform at their scheduled March music festival, and why Hoppus and Barker made the move to announce his departure formally. Travis and Mark will be joined by Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio for the festival.
Travis then added on top of the mess, calling out the bands decision to reunite for their 2011 LP "Neighborhood" and how Tom felt through the process:
"When we did get back together after my plane crash, we only got back together, I don't know, maybe because I almost died. But he didn't even listen to mixes or masterings from that record. He didn't even care about it. Why Blink even got back together in the first place is questionable."
Now a day following their remarks without Tom by their side, DeLonge released a lengthy Facebook post with his side of the story. You can read the entire post HERE.
There's clearly problems within the band that need figuring out.....
But this may be the end.
What do you guys think?
